Efrain joined the KIPP San Diego Board in 2015 and is focused on regional growth, sustainability and community engagement. Efrain is committed to helping children and families access opportunities to engage in school, sports, career and community in the San Diego area throughout their lives.
In his role at South County Economic Development Council (“SCEDC”), Efrain supports and participates in organizing, planning and execution of projects such as the Business Outreach program, Rapid Response Layoff Transition program and the annual Economic Summit and Government Officials Reception. Efrain also manages Binational Affairs activities, provides computer systems support and is the web developer and manager of the SCEDC web and social media presence.
He currently serves as vice-chair of SANDAG, and represents the interests of South San Diego County with area chambers of commerce and with economic development councils on both sides of the U.S. – Mexico border. Efrain graduated with a MA in Global Business Management, and a BA in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, where he also received a certificate in Project Management.
